YTS Gisborne Staff head down to Napier

Late last year staff travelled to Napier for the Career Practitioners Association NZ Seminar with Gray Poehnell as part of their professional development. Gray is a Career Coach expert who is heavily involved with youth, adults, and indigenous cultures in an international context.

The YTS Gisborne Youth Services Directory 2007 has just been updated and is now available on the website!

The Directory can be found on the Resource Page of this site. The directory includes agencies, clubs and organisations that offer activities and/or services to 15 - 19 year olds in the Tairawhiti region.

  • They can help you make your plan to get into a job, study or training when you leave school.

  • Youth Transition Services can assist young people who have left school, are leaving school or thinking about leaving school.

  • Youth Transition Services can help with career planning and advice as well as information about apprenticeships, training for a career and what work is available locally.

  • Youth Transition Services can also support you to get other skills you may need, like a drivers licence, first aid certificate or reading, writing and maths skills.

  • The government and local Councils are behind the service, but the help you get is from organisations in your community with the experience and know-how to work with young people and help make good choices for your future.
